SPW&L recognized for providing reliable & safe electric service

Sun Prairie Utilities was recently honored by the American Public Power Association for providing its customers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service. Of the more than 2,000 public power utilities in the nation, Sun Prairie Utilities is one of 84 to earn the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) recognition.

RP3 recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, training and system improvement. Criteria within each category are based on sound business practices and represent a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity. Sun Prairie Utilities received the platinum designation, earning 90 points for their accomplishments in the four key discipline areas.

“Sun Prairie Utilities continues to lead by example and we are proud of our utility’s accomplishment,” Rick Wicklund, Utility Manager said. “This honor is a reminder of the high standards we employ and follow on behalf of our customers and community.”
