Being part of the community we serve is a role that Sun Prairie Utilities takes seriously.
As a utility, we work hard to be an active participant by lending a hand in community service projects and offering various educational programs. We have pledged a strong commitment to not only our customers, but to our community. Through a number civic-minded activities, we have fostered strong relationships that help further our connection to the community.
The following are just a few examples of our involvement in our community.
- Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce Member
- Business & Education Partnership Member
- Cornfest Volunteers - Each year, SPW&L employees help out with all sorts of jobs during the Annual Cornfest
- Fundraiser Distribution site - SPW&L's large equipment garage serves as the pickup point for the Sun Prairie Girl Scouts' Annual Cookie Sale and the Sound of Sun Prairie's Fruit Fundraiser
Corn Fest
Sun Prairie Utilities participates in the annual Sweet Corn Festival Parade. This year family and friends accompanied three vehicles from our fleet down the Columbus Street parade route. This is a perfect time for the Sun Prairie community to show everyone why this is a special place to live.
Fun was had by all. The ZENN electric car has quickly become a favorite of parade-goers, and as always, kids of all ages love the candy. See Photos!
Several employees of SPWL volunteer at the festival. This year we are working in the “corn shed”. Enjoy the corn, the festival and experience many of the reasons why we call Sun Prairie home.
Relay for Life
Sun Prairie Utilities has sponsored a team at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life since 2005. Relay For Life® is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer and empower individuals to fight back against this disease.
